Cancer Care
Patients of Lutheran Hospital’s Cancer Center receive innovative, compassionate care from a team of specialists and staff throughout the cancer journey. We offer preventive screenings, diagnosis, treatment and support for cancer and also participate in numerous clinical trials.
The cancer care team helps patients navigate through treatment, overcome obstacles and access resources. Our goal is to foster confidence, optimism, determination and courage - all of which are needed to take on a cancer diagnosis. Just as important, The Lutheran Cancer Center team delivers individualized cancer care through a best-practice approach that combines multidisciplinary health professionals with advanced technologies in order to provide personalized treatment plans for each patient.
Accredited Cancer Program
This commitment to all aspects of cancer care - from prevention to survivorship to end-of-life - is reflected in Lutheran Hospital’s cancer program accreditation. Lutheran Hospital is the only hospital in Fort Wayne that has earned the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation for five consecutive survey cycles.
Surveys are performed every three years and evaluate the cancer care program’s ability to meet high quality, comprehensive and multidisciplinary patient-centered care standards. Lutheran Hospital has been able to demonstrate its dedication to cancer patients through a rigorous review of all aspects of the cancer program, including diagnostic, treatment, surgical, psychosocial and quality of life standards.
