Speech language pathologists provide a plan of care including evaluation, treatment, education and support for a wide variety of conditions that impact cognition, swallowing and speech and language abilities.
Lutheran Hospital's speech language pathologists work collaboratively with professionals including but not limited to neurologists, ENT (ear, nose and throat) physicians and other specialties in order to thoroughly evaluate patients. Some of our areas of specialty focus include:
- Augmentative/alternative communication
- Cognitive communication disorders
- Degenerative and acquired neurological disorders
- Language disorders
- Motor speech disorders
- Stuttering
- Swallowing disorders (infant, pediatric and adult)
- Voice restoration/disorders
